Telling Tales 2011 is Korda's second yearbook. Its 17 chapters chart the fishing year, as experienced by the lads who work at Korda. Every twist and turn, every smouldering dawn and steaming kettle on the way to final success is documented, in full colour.

The book features headline contributions from Danny Fairbrass, Ali Hamidi, Damian Clarke, Adam Penning, Darrell Peck and Tom Dove, along with a few lads who usually stay clear of the limelight! The chapters cover a real range of fishing, stretching from the capture of one of the very biggest carp in the world, right through to UK day-ticket fishing and the secret world of the under-the-radar club water!

As with the last offering, these stories are richly illustrated with stunning images and full-page plates. Although it has been produced a classy, coffee-table publication, Telling Tales also features plenty of the tips and tactics that you’d expect from Korda, subtly interwoven into the chapters.

Chapmans Rik Johnson @ Les Quis, France

Chapmans Angling Scunthorpe Staff proving they are a cut above the rest with one of the biggest hauls of specimen carp that has been landed from the Les Quis complex in France. A trip which saw Chapmans Rik Johnson and friends land a staggering 587 fish including 8 different 50s to 57lb.

Upon arrival at the complex the action was immanent! As soon as I returned from my long walk around the lake after baiting and cast my rods, within 2 minutes my first rod was away. First fish of the session resulted in a mid thirty pound mirror, and the action never stopped. I finished the week absolutely warn out, landing a staggering 67 fish in total, 9 of which were forties all over 47lb apart from a stunning common at 43lb.

My friends and I also smashed the complex record which was held by 'The Tackle Box' by over 30 fish catching a whacking 587 fish including 8 different 50s in a week.

The most successful bait being the ever consistant Rolling Baits BFM Cranberry, rolled for us by the fantastic lads at Rolling Baits. We have been taking this bait there for the past 5 years now, and these huge carp just can not get enough of it.

Tackle used Pro-logic CC30 12ft 3.5tc rods, Okuma distance carp reels,
Pro-Logic XLNT 20lb line and the new WSUB Pro-logic alarms.

Korda Krimp Tools Out Now!

We’ve got some great news for those of you who were waiting for the Krimp Tools – they’re now out! The first stock was sent out from Korda yesterday so we are expecting them to arrive anytime now! The Krimps and Krimp tool have been designed to allow easy rig construction with stiff materials. In particular, the potential to create extremely neat loops for chod rigs. Not only this, but using Krimps will allow you to create chod rigs that are exactly the same length each and every time. There are two sizes of Krimp available, which have been designed to suit different materials. The smaller one will suit normal stiff materials and stiff coated braids, like Korda’s Hybrid Stiff, and the larger one is perfect for really thick materials (like 30lb plus mono).

The Korda development team went to extreme lengths to make sure that the Krimps and Krimp tools were exactly right, having to overcome various problems along the way. The complexity of getting the tool and Krimps just right has meant that this has been a long development, but we’re sure that it’s been well worth the wait. The Krimp tools should are available to order online now and should be in both our stores in the next couple of days.
